Vashon Unofficial Mayor: Who’s Next?

Hey Vashon Chamber nonprofits - are you interested in entering a candidate into the Vashon Unofficial Mayor race this year?

It’s a fantastic way to get your organization involved in the excitement around Strawberry Festival. Plus, a great opportunity for a fundraising boost.

Here are the steps:

• Apply via the Google Form (now live) - applications due by June 6th at 5 p.m.

• Get an approval email from the Chamber to start your campaign

• Start your campaign! Your candidate will be featured on the Chamber website, blog and social media. Please also leverage your communication platforms to support your candidate.

This year, Unofficial Mayor Candidate nonprofits will use their own websites/donation platforms to raise funds toward their campaign. One dollar equals one vote.

Each nonprofit needs to submit their weekly fundraising tally to the Vashon Chamber (nichole.banducci@vashonchamber.com) by 12 noon on Fridays of the campaign period. (6/6, 6/13, 6/20, 6/27, 7/11 and 7/18…skipping 7/4)

The candidate from the nonprofit with the most money raised is elected Unofficial Mayor. (wooo hooo!)
