Meet our newest Unofficial Mayor

We were thrilled to celebrate the election of TK Rose, Vashon’s new Unofficial Mayor at this year’s Strawberry Festival.

TK Rose is an 8-year-old with big moves and an even bigger heart. TK is the person most likely to get the dancing started and is a friend to everyone he meets. A dance student at VCA and arts enthusiast, TK’s candidacy supports the Blue Heron Education Center’s Scholarship Fund because, as he says, “Everyone should have the chance to dance.” Vote for TK and keep the arts accessible to all of Vashon’s youth!

Thank you, sponsors!

Are you counting down the days till Strawberry Festival Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of the weekend:

  • Plan Ahead: We’ll be publishing a full schedule for the weekend about a month out. You want to make sure to catch your favorite music, activities and vendors.

  • Visit Sunday: It’s a super busy weekend. Make sure to get your rest on Saturday night because Sunday is a fantastic day to enjoy festival with fewer crowds.

  • Bring a Water Bottle: There will be a listing of uptown businesses and booths that will invite you to refill your reusable bottle at their business. (It can be HOT, stay hydrated.)

  • Be Prepared for Road Closures: Our closures are the same each year. On the north, at Ober Park. At the south, at Vashon Theatre. Park on a side street & walk.

  • Dance & Have Fun! Locals like to enjoy community and great music. Relax and have a fantastic time.
