Chamber Member Highlight: Designing with Purpose on Vashon
At Harpole Home, we believe every home tells a story—a reflection of the people who live there, the landscape that surrounds them, and the creativity that flows within. This month, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on one of our recent projects, a stunning kitchen remodel nestled on Vashon Island’s scenic west side.

Cover Worthy: Recent Vashon Media Coverage
Of course, we all KNOW that Vashon is awesome! It's always wonderful to see others fall in love with our wonderful community.
Recently, we've gotten some new media hits, which have been supported by the Chamber. One is South Sound magazine and the other, an online publication called The Manual.
Giving Tuesday: Keep Your Support Local
As the rush of the Holiday season is hitting full swing, make sure to take the opportunity to give back to local organizations the help support our Vashon Community.
There are many wonderful nonprofits on our island. We’ve pulled together a list of those that are members of our Chamber. There are over 30 great organizations on this spreadsheet. We’ve included their name, mission, main website and a convenient link to their donation page.
Thank you for taking the time to consider supporting one or more of these local nonprofits.
Supporting Small Business: Thanks, Tom!
‘Small Business Saturday’ is this coming weekend. Yet, on Vashon, EVERY DAY is a small business day. Your on-island purchases support your friends and neighbors. Buying local right now, helps to get our beloved businesses through the cold, dark, low-traffic winter.
Have you seen Tom Conway’s gift idea post on the ‘Vashon for All’ Facebook group? Not only did he raise the bar for recognizing our small business buddies this Holiday season, but he also invited the community / business owners to add to the list.
We reached out to Tom and got his approval to share his list. Some may not be on Facebook. Some may have lost the link to this phenomenal post. Here’s a copy/paste of his post from Monday, November 25, 2024. Make sure to click the link to support Tom’s post and see what new gift ideas have been added. (note that Tom states ‘101’ in the intro below, but there were already three more ideas by the time I copied the post.)
Give Thanks for Family, Friends & FOOD
No matter where you live, Thanksgiving week can bring many questions around “what’s open today?”
When you’re on Vashon, that question can be wildly more important as you want to keep things convenient and stay on island.
We surveyed Vashon Chamber member food establishments to find out what their hours of operation will be this coming Thanksgiving.
Vashon Chamber Reorganizes to Serve the Vashon Community
“With the appointment of our new Executive Director, we're entering an exciting chapter for the Vashon-Maury Chamber of Commerce. This leadership, coupled with our refreshed operating structure, positions us to better serve our community, support local businesses, and build a stronger, more vibrant future for Vashon Island," writes Cheryl Lubbert, President of Vashon-Maury Chamber of Commerce and Co-Owner/Founder of Nashi Orchards.
